The Thrift Finds That Made Our Home Complete | Chesapeake Wedding Photographer

Anyone who knows me knows I love a good thrift store find. The DAV, Goodwill, or recently I’ve been scoring big on Facebook Marketplace!

Here’s the thing about thrifting: When you find something that fits you just right or is exactly what you’ve been looking for, you feel like you’re on top of the world. Because unlike department stores that have 30 of each item, there’s only one of that special something! And I found it! Call me the Goodwill goddess! (For real, that’s how I feel!)

All jokes aside, I really feel like in our seasons of need (or even just want!) the Lord has blessed us with exactly what we we’re looking for through thrift stores. When we first moved to St. Louis, each Goodwill trip yielded the very thing we needed. When I didn’t need something, I didn’t find anything. But when we were hunting for a rug for the living room, a mirror for the bedroom, and chairs for the dining room there they were and I felt a little squeeze from the Lord each time, like these were gifts sent just for us. He’s good like that, you know? He cares about the little things too and he is so incredibly generous. Same thing happened when we moved to Chesapeake. A desk for my office? Bench for our hallway? Chairs for our living room? Check, check, check- all in his timing, all in his grace.
