Meet April and Bob! (and Rosie!)
This couple is near and dear to Alvin and I’s hearts. We first met them about this time last year when Bob invited Alvin to visit and interview for a job at Grace Presbyterian, where Bob serves as Senior Pastor, and where Alvin now serves as Associate Pastor. We had no idea then what a big part of our lives these two would become. Bob is now Alvin’s boss- but also dear friend, mentor, and fellow board game lover. April has become my dear friend over dozens of cups of tea and chapters of books discussed. And Rosie, their new pup? If you’ve watched my Instastories over the last several months, you’ve watched her grow up and know I’ve dubbed myself her dog aunt 🙂
I’ve been hoping to get these two in front of my lens for a while now because I truly believe that you don’t need a “reason” to document the season of life you’re in. Your engagement session and wedding day should not be the last time you stop to capture you two. Because you are where it started. Your family, your careers, the lives you built, they started here; with bear hugs from behind and kisses on cheeks. These two are not the same people they were in college- they’ve grown and changed, raised 3 boys, planted a church, seen highs and lows- and that is worth documenting, celebrating, and just plain noticing!
So Monday evening we drove down to Norfolk’s Freemason District, and took time to capture just them- goofy (Bob didn’t hold back), sweet (dancing in the rain), and loving (Rosie cuddles in their backyard)! I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
