Katie & Mitch | Lincoln Memorial Engagement Session | Washington, DC Wedding Photographer

Meet Katie and Mitch!

Katie and I have been following each other for what feels like forever. She went to GMU too, and she and Mitch were in InterVarsity with my sister. Mitch played the long game with her, waiting patiently for her to be available, interested, and say yes to that first date. I asked them “Who liked who first?” “Mitch.” “Who initiated the first kiss?” “Mitch.” “Who said I love you first?” “Mitch.” “Who knew the other one was the one first?” “Katie.” Once she fell, she fell hard 🙂

When they finally got engaged this February, and just before that won my giveaway, I was so excited! Sadly, they’re an October wedding and with little Miriam due then I can’t be their photographer, but I’m so so glad I got to meet up with them last weekend for some iconic DC engagement portraits and to photograph her stunner of a ring (gives me Princess Diana/Kate vibes!)!

They have so many sweet memories here in DC, coming in to see the monuments at night after a stressful day of exams with friends or just the two of them. It felt extra special to capture them in this place they love! We could not have had a windier day (seriously, there was an extreme wind warning and the first series of photos we had to shout to each other through the wind to be heard!), but it only made for more romantic photos!

Enjoy some of my favorites from this iconic DC engagement session!

Love,
Sarah
