Meet Gabriela and Jack!

Dear Internet, I don’t know if you’re ready for these two.  Because golden light, fall colors, and a love like this…it’s been killing me to wait till today to share these!

Gabriela and Jack have literally the sweetest love story ever.  They met at orientation freshman year and it was one of those “I loved her right away” but “He was my best friend” stories for 3 years.  Their senior year at Elon they were finally both single at the same time and Jack convinced her to go on a date.  Gabriela told me, “I told him he would only get one date, but that was all it took.”  They went ice skating (smart guy, choosing a first date where he could causally hold her hand “for balance”) and got peppermint hot chocolates and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

They’re book-lovers so we met for their consult and a few photos at The Potter’s House, and then carried the book theme along with us for several spots and outfit changes at Rock Creek Park.  The book in several of the photos is a book of poems Gabriela gave Jack for their first Valentine’s Day together with the sweet inscription “To my best friend and my love…you are my home.”  I love that inscription because before even reading those words for myself I knew they were home for each other just from watching them.  The way her head rests perfectly on his chest, how he gently and playfully pulls her in for each kiss…their love is sweet, safe, and strong, a true home.

Enjoy some of my favorites from their DC fall engagement session at Rock Creek Park!

Love,
Sarah
