Rachel & Richard | Fairfax City Hall Styled Shoot | Fairfax Wedding Photographer

Meet Rachel and Richard!

I went to GMU with these two and have loved witnessing their love story.  It was a “we’re friends but he wants to be something more” story for the longest time, so everyone was excited when they finally fell in love.  They got married last spring and when Rachel and I caught up over the summer she shared her disappointment with their wedding photos.  I know the weight wedding photos carry, and the heartbreak that comes when the day isn’t captured the way we imagined.  Since then, I’ve been dying to get them in front of my lens to capture the colorful, true-to-them images they have longed for.  And that’s where the rest of the story comes in…

A few weeks ago Alvin and I were headed up to NoVA for an engagement session and some family time and I heard that my florist friend Jessie from Crafted Stems Design Co. was looking to partner with a photographer for an impromptu styled shoot the next day.  I jumped on the opportunity as fast as I could because 1. Everything Jessie lays her hands on is amazing and I love working with her 2. I had been dreaming up a styled shoot with Rachel and Richard as my models for several months and was dying to make it happen!  I texted Rachel and to my delight this whole shoot came together in a matter of hours!  They pulled out their wedding dress and tux again (complete with an amazing cathedral veil), Rachel did her own hair and makeup (she’s a makeup artist ya’ll, so she looked flawless!), Jessie supplied the stunning bouquet and bout, and Jesus gave us the perfect weather and light for this fall styled shoot!  I was on Cloud 9 the rest of the day!

Enjoy some of my all-time favorite images from this Fairfax City Hall styled shoot!

Love,
Sarah
