Did someone say girls trip?!
This girls trip was what dreams were made of. Walking the charming streets of Charleston under sunny skies, shopping and eating till we dropped, touring via horse-drawn carriage, taking in the beautiful architecture and Spanish moss-draped trees, wearing dresses every day and skipping dinner for dessert. Yes, please. I would happily go again tomorrow!
This trip was made 10x more special in sharing it with my mom and sister. For years I have wanted to go to Charleston and have texted them randomly begging to make a girls trip of it. For Christmas, my mom surprised us both with plane tickets! We had so much fun planning where to go and what to eat, seeing as much as we could and milking every minute of our time away from laundry, husbands and kiddos.
We landed on a Thursday and spent our first evening in Folly Beach going in all the little tourist shops, walking the beach, and having the best happy hour and dinner at Taco Boy before heading back to the hotel to watch Shark Tank and eat chocolate in bed. Friday was full: a horse-drawn carriage tour of downtown, shopped Market Street, lunch in the sun, window-shopped King Street, walked Rainbow Row and the waterfront, Poogan’s Porch for dinner and dessert, ended the day decompressing in the hotel pool. Saturday we spent the whole day at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens and went into the city that night for dessert at Kaminsky’s, a second walk/shop of Market Street, and boutique hotel exploring. Sunday we hit up the local Waffle House and flew home to our families!
I didn’t take my real camera out for everything, but I loved getting to pause for some beautiful moments and capture the city as I saw it. Enjoy some favorite photos!
Love,
Sarah
