Monica & Matt | Engagement Session | Georgetown Wedding Photographer

Meet Monica and Matt!

I’ve known these two since their freshman years of college and it feels like they’ve been dating about that long too!  Monica shared during the session that the first time she met Matt, one of her guy friends came over and gave her a hard time for hitting on a freshman.  They joke about it now, but it wasn’t that long after that they started dating.

I know them both from Cru at George Mason, and so it’s been so sweet to watch their relationship grow and deepen over the years.  When it finally popped on my Facebook feed that they were engaged I knew I HAD to shoot their wedding!  And I was so honored when they asked me to!  I seriously cannot wait for next summer!

We’d been chatting about their engagement session for a while when Monica suggested Georgetown- one of their favorite places to adventure, but, more specifically where Matt took her on a surprise Valentine’s Day date one year.  We metroed into the city together and explored the gardens of Dumbarton Oaks (a fancy mansion I had no idea was tucked away behind Georgetown) and the Georgetown waterfront before feasting on shwarma bowls at my favorite local restaurant.  It was such a joy to spend the better part of the day with these two catching up, capturing their love, and adventuring on a perfect fall day together.

Enjoy some of my favorites (it’s a little long- there were too many to choose from!) from their Georgetown engagement session!

Love,
Sarah
