Reliving this late summer/early fall wedding was a dream. Like any wedding day, it had it’s challenges (florescent-lit indoor ceremony, hotel grounds that consisted of concrete and a few trees, and dang was it hot!) but you know me- I made it work and I’m excited to show you Molly & Austen’s full day!
Molly and Austen were married on a hot September day at a Richmond Marriott. The hotel grounds were exactly what you’d expect from your standard Marriott: a little landscaping, but mostly cars and signs. I got married at a Marriott too, so I’m not hating! I made a point to show up early on their day to scout out the surrounding areas. Thankfully, just across the street from the Marriott was a huge Wells Fargo campus. There was a small shaded picnicking area on the campus and we squeezed most of their first look and bridal party portraits in this small area between picnic tables and a pavilion. We made it work, and I am so so proud of the results! Molly and Austen trusted the vision (they’re awesome about that!) and what we captured there was so perfectly them!
All in all, it was a beautiful day. I loved seeing Molly and Austen celebrate with their people, and it was a joy to document the intimate moments of their day. I’m biased here, but I loved how Molly kept their decor simple with framed photos from their engagement session paired with candles and uplighting.
Enjoy some of my favorites from their Richmond wedding day!!
