Lydia Joy is 2 weeks old today.
Most days Alvin and I still look at each other and say, “I can’t believe we have a baby!” or “I can’t believe we’re parents!” or “Babe- look at her face right now- she’s SO CUTE!”
This week my dear friend Anna came to our house to take these beautiful in-home newborn photos for us and I am obsessed with all the love she captured! Anna managed to get some of my favorite expressions Lydia has- from her peaceful sleeping face to her pouty lip, to her tiny yawns…I can’t get over the sweetness!
We’re doing our best to cherish each moment, knowing she’ll never be this small again. Already her cheeks are starting to fill out, and Alvin keeps saying “I’m not ready for her to grow up!” Their daddy-daughter moments together just melt my heart.
This is my little family, my heart all wrapped up in a couple dozen photos. Not every moment looks like these (in fact most are quite unglamorous), but even our mundane moments hold the sweetest joys. Between the late nights and the endless diapers and spit up, we are building a legacy of love.
