Aubrey & Jake | 5 Year Anniversary Shoot | Chesapeake Anniversary Photographer

Meet Aubrey and Jake!

Sunday morning bright and early, I met Aubrey and Jake at her parent’s house. These two are high school sweethearts, and outside this house on her 18th birthday was the first time they said “I love you.” Sunday marked 5 years of marriage for them (they’ve been together for 10 years!!!), and Jake surprised Aubrey with this ultra-romantic sunrise session as a way to celebrate during quarantine. After our warm-up shots at the house, we drove 5 minutes down the road to this sun-soaked buttercup field for the dreamiest photos! Everything about this shoot was a recipe for gorgeousness: the sweetest playful couple, gorgeous spring sunshine, and buttercups for days (you guys know how much I love me some yellow!). What a perfect way to start the day!

This was my first socially distant shoot during quarantine. It was so fun to get back to what I love, but also brought new, surprising challenges! I worked only with my 50mm and 85mm, keeping that solid 6ft distance, and hustling to create the variety of images (close up and intimate and pulled back and epic) my clients have come to expect. I wore a mask the whole time, and every time I exhaled it would fog up my viewfinder. Between that and the bright sun, I was shooting most of this session blind- just going with my gut and trusting the talent I’ve worked hard to cultivate. I honestly couldn’t be more thrilled with how they turned out, and am proud to be “back in business” for local, socially distant shoots like this one!

Enjoy my favorites from this timeless Chesapeake anniversary session!

Love,

Sarah
